Whew. We’re finally done with all the hoops here in Ukraine, and have had a quiet day in our Kiev apartment getting to know each other as a family. Which, believe me, is HUGELY different than chasing preschoolers around in their own territory. Everybody is thriving on the routine. So of course tomorrow we’ll destroy that by traveling all day, but at least we’ll be home, and see some family and friends. Thank God! When we land in Chicago, the kids will officially be American citizens, and we’ll have to go through the immigration process. Please pray that it will be speedy – or at least efficient – as we have just over 2 hours before we catch our flight to KC.
The new family dynamics have been interesting, and pretty humorous. Last night the kids had baked chicken, mashed potatoes, and corn (doesn’t that sound like John, except for the gravy!) and they loved every bit of it. I even got two “good job” comments from Maksim, he really loved the chicken. Oh excuse me, Alex. He likes his new name, and corrected me once today when I called him Maksim.
The kids just got up from their nap, so of course all other activity ceases at that point. We're all at the window, waiting for Uncle Tim to arrive. Hope he's ready for three preschoolers...

It is SO exciting to think that you will all be HOME! Glad the kiddos are adjusting to their new family.
We'll be praying you have a safe trip home and that everything in Chicago goes smoothly!

I'm sure Uncle Tim will be excited too! It sounds like the kids are dealing with the situation for the most part like a big adventure. Lucky break there.
I imagine the plane ride will be very memorable but since Uncle Tim will have your back I'm sure it will go very smoothly. See you soon!
Uncle Tim's plan has been delayed in Frankfurt...hopefully he will get their soon!
