Last day in Donetsk

This is just one last quick post here before we leave to pick up the kids, dress them in the clothes we brought, and catch the 8pm train to Kiev.

This morning we went to the orphanage to dress the kids before we pick them up this evening, but the orphanage director recommended we just leave the clothes there till this evening and dress them then, so we did. The director did, however, allow us to see the room where the kids sleep, something they typically don't allow at this orphanage...we were very thankful to her for allowing us to take some pictures.
Here's the bedroom where all our kids sleep, I was happy to see that they were decked out in Chiefs colors. :-)

After seeing the beds, we got to play outside with the kids for a while before we took off for lunch and to buy supplies for the train ride. We were happy to see the Scruggs family one last time before we left, and our kids got to play together with Samuel Daniel one last time.
Michael, Jeanette and Samuel, one last visit before their paperwork is finalized today.







We went outside and did some low-impact playing since we had really planned on dressing the kids and not playing so we brought no toys. We did, however, bring their new little backpack/leashes which they loved. They even showed them off to everyone they could find. We didn't hook up the leashes (yet), we'll save that little surprise for them for when we're out in public and don't want them bolting. We did practice walking as a family though, which they love to do. They were VERY unhappy when we took off their backpacks, they were very attached to them which is a great thing for us. :-)

So, this is our last post from Donetsk, Ukraine before we arrive in Kiev tomorrow morning at 10am to begin our Embassy Visa process. We agreed that there are things that are really pretty nice about this town that we'll miss, but there's no place like home. Next stop, KIEV!
